Mid-Century Modern Muse
Pikesville, Maryland
When an accidental fire left the long-time home of one Pikesville couple severely damaged, it became a chance to reimagine how they wanted to live out the next chapter. In love with their neighborhood and the original house’s mid-century roots, they decided to enlist the SB team to work alongside their contractor to design and build a new residence from the ground up. Their vision was for an open-concept layout with plenty of light and layers of rich neutrals, creating a space appropriately sophisticated for two working professionals but also inviting and playful enough for their favorite visitors: their young grandchildren. We loved breathing new life to this residence, with a design tailored exactly to their lifestyle and tastes, including custom millwork, unique lighting fixtures and finishes, thoughtful upholstery choices, and pops of color thanks to contemporary artwork. It was an honor to work with these clients, who so readily and creatively embraced the idea of a fresh start.

"I am so grateful for Stephanie's and Brooke's hard work and fantastic eye in bringing our vision for our home rebuild to fruition. After a devastating house fire in 2020, we were overwhelmed, but they made the process exciting and manageable. The end result is spectacular and we are thrilled to be back in our new, old home!”
