DC Modern Farmhouse

Washington, D.C.

Maintaining the tension between the traditional and contemporary was the name of the game in our latest residential project for a young, Northwest DC-based family of five. With a love of modern art and little trepidation around bold patterns, our clients gave us room to play with lively patterns, colors and textures that feel family-friendly and sophisticated at the same time. And since their new house includes multiple floors and expansive square footage, we also helped with practical solutions, like a built-in bar with custom millwork in the upstairs owner’s suite for easy access to coffee or refreshments at any hour. The result is a bright, beautiful home that feels fun and functional, perfect for making memories in the years to come.

“We can not recommend SB and her team more highly! We LOOOVE how our house came out and thoroughly enjoyed working with her throughout the entire process. The final result is above and beyond what we could expect. She married our desire for color in a classy, comfortable way and turned it into a “WOW!” Even with all the Covid delays, she was able to find substitutes when necessary auto create an amazing final result. She tackled 6,000 square feet and made it seem like a “home.” And even helped with our outdoor space! And she and her team were so fun to work with—they would hold my hand when needed and force decisions when we needed. You will not be disappointed if you hire SB and her team!”
