In Baltimore’s busy Harbor East neighborhood, Bambao is an upscale fast-casual eatery offering diners a chance to escape the rush and restore a sense of calm thanks to nourishing food and a tranquil, artful dining space. We collaborated with a number of teams to bring this project to fruition: Axios Real Estate Group, brand consultancy Andre Bean and Artstar Custom Paintworks. When architectural elements, such as a sloping ceiling, could have been perceived as a constraint, we saw them as an opportunity to propose bold, creative solutions. The undulating maplewood wall on the second floor is part sculpture, part partition and a beloved focal point for Instagram-loving foodies. With new lighting, updated finishes and an inspiring mural by Artstar Custom Paintworks, the new Bambao is a feast for the eyes.
